Incorrect positioning can cause liquid propane to clog the safety relief valve, triggering a massive, uncontrolled leak.
- The Pre-Operation Leak Test: Inspect connections at every single tank change. Apply a 50/50 mix of dish soap and water to the valve connection and hose after opening the fuel valve. If bubbles expand, shut off the valve immediately. If you smell a distinct rotten egg odor, or hear a hissing sound, immediately stop work, evacuate the immediate area, and notify your site safety officer.
